Looking for something fun to pair with your park day? Tour an OCFA Fire Station!

Here’s the info from OCFA’s website:

OCFA Fire Stations are open Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. for station tours. Station tours must be pre-approved and last approximately 30 minutes. Please note that tours are subject to the crew’s availability and we request at least two weeks’ advance notice to schedule. Station Tour Guidelines: 

  • No more than 25 people (or one class) per visit – This includes adults and children
  • We request 1 adult per 5 children to provide supervision
  • The recommended age for station visits is 5 and up
  • We do not host birthday parties at fire stations
  • Groups are limited to one station tour per year

Margie L. Rice Park in Westminster is the biggest Fire Truck park in Orange County. The two level play structure has with a fire pole and lots of room for pretend play. Lots of steering wheels, play doors and music station, climbing net and spinners. Baby bucket and kids swings. Picnic tables & restrooms close by.

West Haven Park in Garden Grove is right next to a real fire station! It has a fire truck as well as a play fire station with a fire pole and even a spot to poke your head out to look like a fireman! The restrooms are only for those who rent the community room next to the playground.

Koch Park – Placentia: Two fire truck play structures, the larger one has slides & steering wheels. The small one has monkey bars and steering wheels. Small fire station with sand play, stand alone climbing net with balance beam & spring rider. Baby bucket and kid swings, picnic tables and restrooms close by.

Vista View Park in Fountain Valley has a small fire station and fire truck play structure. Fire truck with steering wheels, slides and rope ladder. Baby bucket and kid swings. Picnic tables and BBQ in the grass, no restrooms.

Lagos de Moreno Park in Brea is a large gated playground, the fire truck is just one piece of the park. Open weekdays during after school hours from 3pm to dusk & on weekends and while there is no school it is open from 7am to dusk. There is a small fire station and fire truck play structure with steering wheels and slides. This playground also has a large climbing structure with tall slides, floating steps and rock wall. There is also a merry go round spinner, seesaw, play car and more! Covered picnic tables and restrooms next to the playground.

Bomo Koral Park in Santa Ana has a small fire truck play structure with monkey bars and steering wheel next to another play structure and swings. Large open grass area, picnic tables but no restrooms.

Denni Park in La Palma consists of just this fire truck play structure with monkey bars and steering wheels. Picnic table behind, no restrooms.

Peter Green Park in Huntington Beach – playground with two sides both with play structures. One side with a small fire truck in front and the other side has a pick up truck. Also look for the turtles and play panels, baby bucket and kid swings. Two areas with covered picnic tables but no restrooms.

Portola Park – La Habra: this small fire truck is just part of this playground. There is a small covered play structure with a rock wall and slides. Ladder climbing structure with fireman’s pole, baby bucket inclusive and kid swings. Covered picnic tables and restrooms. And look for the train cars near the playground, this playground is behind the La Habra Depot Theater.

Linear Park – Ladera Ranch: this playground is for residents and their guests only. It has one fire truck play structure with steering wheels and slide. Covered picnic table, BBQ but no restrooms.

Pacific Hills Park – Mission Viejo: metal firetruck with steering wheels at this playground with a small play structure with slides, spring riders and play house. Baby bucket and kid swings, picnic tables & BBQ but no restrooms.

Oso Viejo Park – Mission Viejo: Fire truck play panel on the small play structure with steering wheel and slides. This playground also has tall slides, standing teeter totter and baby bucket and kid swings. The playground is along the Oso Creek Trail & the Tale Trail is close by as well. Plenty of picnic tables and restrooms.
