Orange County Model Engineers (OCME)
Orange County Model Engineers (OCME Trains):
Orange County Model Engineers is a non-profit, all volunteer club that offers public ride days every 3rd Sat & Sun of the month!
Trains are 1/8 the size of the real thing & operate like real locomotives! They are made up of 4-6 bench cars & the ride lasts about 12 minutes & covers two loops of the park!
Children must be 31” tall & be able to walk to ride. Children must sit on their own seat & not on their parent’s lap.
Rides are FREE but donations help keep the trains running!! Current donations are working towards rebuilding their trestle
Located at Fairview Park: 2480 Placentia Ave, Costa Mesa (directly across from Estancia HS)
Restrooms, picnic tables & typically a food truck onsite
Suggestions to do after riding the train:
- Bike, walk, picnic at Fairview Park (across the way, enter at the light “Fairview Park” on the other side of Placentia Ave.)
- Visit the playground at Tewinkle Park, climb the rocks (my kids love that) or follow the path to walk the lake! (9 mins away)
